Felt Making at Earth Centre
Earth Centre is now closed.
Earth Centre closed in October 2004. Earth Centre is now in administration and
is no longer open to the public. We had an interesting session in the yurt at Doncaster
Earth Centre and learned about the way of life of a different culture.
The people of Asia would often live I a Yurt if they lived a nomadic
lifestyle. They looked after sheep, goats, camels and oxen. They lived
in a little house made from felt. Their clothes were made from wool and
felt. We learned how to make felt in our felt-making session. It was
very good and the felt making was exciting. |
