Cusworth Hall has been given a make-over,
and here you can see a few photos to show
what it is like without any exhibits.
Cusworth Has is shown with its fresh paint
and wonderfully restored rooms.
The listed building is a Grade 1 listed
building and is a fine example of a Georgian
Country House.
The major refurbishment has involved the
exterior and the interior. Roofs on the
buildings have been replaced and stonework
repaired. The cost has been around £7.5
million pounds.
The interior has been analysed
microscopically and the redecorating has
taken into account original colour schemes
and materials. Even the doors have
been painted in the original style and
colour.
Unlike Brodsworth Hall which was acquired by
English Heritage complete with the entire
contents of the house, it has been decided
not to try to re-create the interior
furnishings of Cusworth.
Once Cusworth hall is open to the public, it
is planned by school to make use of the
educational facilities for enhancing the
curriculum.

Cusworth Hall Chapel
In the chapel, ceiling paintings have
been revealed by painstaking conservation.
In the photos below, some of the beautiful
paintings can be seen.
The flooring is of red plaster and was
intended, when designed, to re-create the
look of an Italian church.
